The Phoenix

Deep in the glowing embers I would seek
the fabled Phoenix, lost in ashen sleep.
Into his dormant dreams mine own would seep,
to reignite his fire and fan the flame.
Then on his wing I’d fly to heights unknown,
unleashing ancient words of potent worth,
to spread his elder magic through the earth;
uniting with his vision, to reclaim
those times when genteel knights, of erstwhile fame,
defended with their honour what is right,
and vanquished monstrous evils in fair fight,
restoring to the kingdom honour’s name.
With fiery zeal we’d resurrect the lore,
to help this world redeem its peace once more.
